Fandango roses

It began with the idea to record a video! I thought it would be fun to record my painting process and just see where it took me. So, I got out some acrylic inks to play with, and brushed them on to watercolour paper. Then I added some details on top with Caran D'ache neocolor crayons. Once dry, I cut out shapes ready for collage. I guess the entire project took an hour, or more.


Believe me, the painting was a lot more fun than editing the video to just 3 mins. The editing was a huge learning curve and I don't know how it took me an entire morning to edit the video - much longer than it took to actually paint the subject! You can see the process video on YouTube HERE.


I was pleased with the elements but it needed more work. Enter, Photoshop. I scanned the elements and had a play around with composition. I absolutely LOVE how the finished pattern turned out. I thought it would look gorgeous made into summer clothing so compiled a mockup of a fun playsuit.
